Word of the Year
How are those New Year’s resolutions going? Really?
Still going strong and you’re feeling awesome or have they fizzled out and now you’re beating yourself up?
As you know, I’m not a believer of setting impractical goals when we naturally want to hibernate a little, spend some time in reflection and heal ourselves, ready to burst into life in the spring (have a read of my New Year, New You blog if you’ve no clue what I’m on about!)
One thing I do have though, to give me focus each year though is a Word Of The Year.
I came across this when I was in a law of attraction group and it really stuck with me. I now feel my way into this over the Winter break and use it to keep me focused in my goals – all of which can be fluid of course, but I have honestly found having one stable guide has kept me on track both in my personal growth, as well as my business.
Let me explain.
In 2020, I had somewhat of a spiritual and life awakening – there’s more on that as well in my blogs, just as above – why not check out my website!
I was a little lost, trying to navigate my way through what can only be described as mind blowing expansion.
After much soul searching and trying to keep up with all that was coming forth for me, I felt a little overwhelmed and was like a kid in a candy store – where do I start!
The amazing group I as in and the new friends, guides and mentors that I was starting to meet (and the universe was sending my way), was beginning to give me a little more clarity on my journey.
I was expanding on a massive scale and hence my word of the year in 2021 was Expansion! I had discovered a wealth of exciting (and yes, sometimes scary) explanations as to why I felt the way I did, why I was questioning so much of what I had believed to be true and wasn’t. It was a time of expanding my knowledge, my experiences and most of all myself!
In that year, I expanded to the point I felt I would burst and so in 2022, I needed a little more Focus. Yes you guessed it, that was my word for that year! Instead of dipping into anything and everything that was coming my way, I chose a few things to Focus on, to really understand and implement into my life.
Our lives are a continual journey and I will always be learning, remembering, opening up to new experiences but it felt right for me at that time to truly understand a couple of things that I felt brought me the most clarity in the moment. I will never stop enjoying all the incredible things that are presented to me and I see, hear and feel new experiences every day but having Focus allowed me to understand how I could use these wonderful teachings.
As we move forward into 2023, I have grown in my human existence and continue to explore my spiritual being, taking Action to delve deeper, to put my knowledge into practice and to share with others who are perhaps questioning their own beliefs and understanding, who feel somehow lost in the life they understand now.
I am so excited to be blessed and honoured with these powerful words and I trust with openness and love that I can be a guiding presence, a comforting arm around the next generation of spiritually awakening souls and those lost in their labelled lives as they remember what brings them joy, freedom and love.
